Certified Flight Instructor Course

Course Prerequisites

• Commercial Rotorcraft Helicopter Certificate
• Valid second-class medical for the checkride
• Have passed the knowledge test(s) on the fundamentals of instruction and aeronautical knowledge for rotorcraft helicopters. Tests may be taken at Jerry Trimble Helicopters for $175 per test — PSI Exams.
• Current Commercial standards in the Robinson R-22 (currency may be obtained starting at $342/hour dual instruction)
• Have a training week and checkride scheduled with JTH

Course Includes

• One week course
• 30 hours of ground training
• 10 hours of dual flight training in the Robinson R-22
• CFI Checkride

Fees

• 10 hours dual in the Robinson R-22 with Jerry Trimble or a senior JTH instructor
• 30 hours of ground training
• Helicopter rental fee for the checkride flight starts at $295/hour
• $1,100 examiner fee for the checkride and $250 travel fee

Course fee is due on arrival at McMinnville. Any unused amounts, except for the deposit, will be refunded to the customer. Flight training will be conducted by Jerry Trimble or a senior JTH instructor as required.

About Your Instructor

Jerry Trimble, the owner, has over 40 years of experience flying Robinson helicopters. He has worked in EMS, logging, fire-fighting, flight training, and ENG operations. Jerry is an A&P mechanic certified with IA authorization and specializes in touchdown auto and CFI training.
